Fish Temperature and Homeostasis Virtual Lab

Introduction:  In this lab you will slowly change the water temperature of a fish and determine how changing the temperature affects the fish's respiration rate. Recall that HOMEOSTASIS refers to an organism's ability to respond to environmental changes and maintain its own internal balance.

Fish are placed in a water bath with temperatures ranging from 4 degrees celcius, to 30 degrees celsius. In the lab, we only lowered the temperature because high temperatures will stress the fish.

The animation below will simulate this part of the lab. Count the number of times it opens and closes its mouth in 30 seconds using the stopwatch as a timer. Record this in your data table
