Responsible for many cases of pink eye and other infections, but some strains are part of the normal microbiota of the gut and skin.

Bacillus subtilis

A common bacteria found on the surface of skin and objects, not harmful.

Spirillum volutans

This is one of the largest types of spiral bacteria, flagella are visible on both ends of the cell.

Spiral shaped bacteria also cause syphilis and other infections.
