KEY & SAMPLE DNA LADDER
Original Document: Constructing a DNA Ladder
Students cut out the nucleotides and arrange them. They can be arranged in any order, but make sure they are anti-parallel and that A's match T's and C's match G's. Sample is included here.
Questions:
1. Describe the base-pair rule. A pairs with T; G pairs with C
2. What three things make up a nucleotide?
base (A, T, G, C), phosphate, and the sugar deoxyriboses
3. What does anti-parallel mean?
the sides run opposite, or point in different directions.
